To Rest on Far Sands

Escape to Rock and Ice

And hear a centaur cry from parting plates

While, slumbering, a glacier wounds the stone

Crag by crag. Sky and snow suspend the white horizon

Like air and ground and soul and blood are one

Whole – we’re icebergs born from ancient glacial ice

Which terraform by force of its own mass,

Rise silently with bands of black and blue,

To rest on far sands, becoming clear jewels

That dissolve in the fury of the sea.

So obsidian bluffs are struck with wind and wave,

While Kronos roars from columnar basalt caves.
